In the present report, the Special Rapporteur on the human rights of internally displaced persons, Paula Gaviria Betancur, provides an update on the activities carried out since her last report to the Human Rights Council, in July 2025. In the thematic section of the report, she examines, through the lens of international humanitarian law, challenges that affect internally displaced persons. She calls for strengthened respect for international law, greater accountability and coordinated, inclusive efforts to ensure protection and durable solutions for internally displaced persons.
